Czechia, Finland to Produce Sentry Anti-Tank Mine System and 10,000 Mines for Czech Army
The Czech Ministry of Defence has signed a seven-year framework agreement with the Czech STV Group for the supply of mines and the Sentry anti-tank mine system worth up to CZK 4.08 billion ($170,000). This was reported by Radio Prague International with reference to the company's statement.
As noted by STV Group, the Sentry anti-tank system allows networking and remote control of individual mines.
The Czech army will reportedly purchase at least 10,000 mines under the contract. The contract could be worth up to CZK 4.08 billion, depending on the needs of the Czech army, STV reports.
The company will cooperate with the Finnish company Forcit Defence, which specialises in the production of explosives and engineered ammunition.
As The Gaze previously reported, in early December, the Czech Ministry of Defence signed a contract for the purchase of 14 Leopard 2A4 battle tanks from German manufacturer Rheinmetall.
The Ministry of Defence also plans to purchase two Embraer C-390 military transport aircraft for the Czech Air Force.
