Ukraine Expresses Concern Over Escalation in the Middle East

Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry has voiced deep concern over the escalating conflict in the Middle East after Israeli forces launched overnight airstrikes targeting Iran’s nuclear and military facilities, The Gaze reports.
The Ukrainian government warned that further military escalation could destabilize the region and carry serious consequences for global security and financial stability — particularly in energy markets.
“Recognizing the risks of further destabilization in the region, we stress that continued hostilities could have negative consequences for international security and global financial stability, especially on oil markets,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Ukraine underscored the urgent need to prevent civilian casualties and called for efforts to avoid further destabilization of the region. The statement also reminded the international community that Iran continues to support Russia in its ongoing war of aggression against Ukraine by supplying weapons used to kill civilians.
“Iran remains a source of multiple security threats both in the Middle East and beyond,” the ministry noted, linking Iran’s actions to those of other authoritarian regimes.
It emphasized that restoring peace and stability in the Middle East is not only vital to the region, but also to the entire international community. “Security in Europe and the Middle East is directly interconnected,” the ministry stated.
In light of these developments, Ukraine called on the international community to take joint and decisive action to address current security threats and coordinate efforts to contain the aggressive behavior of regimes such as Russia, Iran, and North Korea.
The Foreign Ministry also issued a travel advisory urging Ukrainian citizens to avoid visiting Israel, Iran, Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, and Syria until the security situation in the region improves.
The Israeli air campaign, launched overnight, reportedly struck dozens of targets linked to Iran’s nuclear development program and military infrastructure. In response, Iran launched over 100 drones toward Israel, escalating tensions in an already volatile region.
