Russian Night Strike Damages Mosque of Ukraine’s Muslim Community in Kyiv

As a result of night shelling by Russian troops in Kyiv, a mosque belonging to the Religious Administration of Muslims of Ukraine was damaged.
The Gaze reports on it, referring to the Representative Office of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea on Facebook.
On the night of July 31, 2025, the Islamic Cultural Center was seriously shattered as a result of Russian shelling of Kyiv. According to Murat Suleimanov, mufti of the Religious Administration of Muslims of Ukraine “Umma,” all the windows and doors of the mosque building were broken.
The gymnasium and the office of the Congress of Muslims of Ukraine also suffered significant damage.
Suleimanov said the rocket landed about 50 meters from the mosque, and the debris caused extra damage to it. Currently, the local Muslim community is actively involved in the restoration work.
“This act of aggression is yet another war crime committed by Russia. Strikes on residential buildings, religious and cultural structures are yet another act of terror aimed at intimidating the civilian population,” the statement reads.
As The Gaze reported earlier, on the night of July 31, Russia launched a deadly combined drone and missile attack on Kyiv, killing six people and injuring at least 52 others.
