Ukraine-Russia Talks: Kyiv Proposes Leaders' Meeting in August

During peace talks in Istanbul, the Ukrainian delegation proposed to Russia that a meeting of the leaders of the two countries be held by the end of August, with the participation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and US President Donald Trump, said the head of the Ukrainian delegation, Rustem Umerov, following the meeting.
The Gaze reports on this, referring to Suspilne.
The Ukrainian side also declared its readiness for a ceasefire, in particular, strikes on critical and civilian infrastructure. Also, according to Umerov, the parties discussed further stages of the exchange of prisoners and civilians.
The Russian side agreed to return people who have been in captivity for more than three years, in particular, the seriously wounded and young people.
In addition, more than 1,200 people will take part in a humanitarian exchange between Russia and Ukraine, Umerov said.
Umerov added that there are currently no concessions on the ceasefire and that the groups are working on priorities regarding people and on a meeting between the leaders.
The third round of peace talks between the Ukrainian and Russian delegations began in Istanbul, Turkey, on the evening of 23 July.
As The Gaze reported earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with top Ukrainian officials on Wednesday in Ankara, just hours before a new round of Ukraine-Russia peace negotiations was set to begin in Istanbul.
