Ukraine Signs Record €500 Million Gas Purchase Agreement with EBRD

Ukraine is taking another important step towards energy stability and preparing for winter by signing a record agreement with the EBRD.
The Gaze reports on it, referring to a post by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yuliia Svyrydenko, on Telegram.
Ukrainian gas supplier Naftogaz and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) have signed a record €500 million gas purchase agreement. This is the bank's largest project in our country and a significant step toward ensuring a stable energy supply for Ukrainians.
“But most importantly, this is the first time such a loan has been provided under an EU guarantee, without a state guarantee from Ukraine,” Svyrydenko wrote.
It is reported that this decision will help Ukraine prepare reliably for the heating season and provide Ukrainian families with heat and electricity even on the most difficult days of winter.
This project was made possible due to the joint efforts of international partners and the professional work of the Ukrainian team. “We thank the EBRD and the EU for their support, and the government and Naftogaz teams for their professional work,” the statement emphasized.
The successful signing of this agreement demonstrates that Ukraine continues to strengthen its energy position and build reliable partnerships in the international arena.
