Ukraine and UK Seal 100-Year Partnership Agreement

The Ukrainian Parliament (Verkhovna Rada) took a historic step by ratifying a 100-year partnership agreement with the United Kingdom, laying the foundation for deeper cooperation in security, economics, and science for centuries to come.
The Gaze reports on it, referring to a press release from the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
The ratified document aims to strengthen strategic relations in the fields of security, economy, science, and other key areas.
One of the central aspects of the agreement is military cooperation. Ukraine and the United Kingdom will expand defense procurement, exchange technologies, and develop joint production of weapons, including unmanned systems.
London has also confirmed its readiness to support Ukraine in countering Russian aggression and in the event of new security challenges.
A key element of the agreement is military support: the UK has committed to providing Ukraine with at least £3.6 billion annually until the 2030/31 financial year, with the possibility of extension in the future.
“This includes training Ukrainian military personnel, supporting pilots, supplying military aircraft, expanding cooperation in the production of defense products, drones, artillery, and involvement in joint expeditionary cooperation formats, such as the Joint Expeditionary Force,” according to the press service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
The document also provides for coordination of efforts towards Ukraine's accession to NATO, development of maritime security in the Baltic, Black, and Azov Seas, as well as enhanced cooperation in the field of cyber defense and combating information threats.
Joint work in the field of science, technology, and innovation will also be an important area, laying the foundation for long-term partnership development.
As The Gaze reported earlier, Britain’s newly appointed Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper made Kyiv one of her first official destinations, underscoring the importance London places on Ukraine’s security.
