Ukraine will begin exporting surplus domestically produced weapons under a government-controlled program, with export hubs planned in the United States, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on Monday.

The Gaze reports this, referring to his evening address.

Zelenskyy said the move is designed to generate additional revenue for Ukraine’s defense industry while ensuring that its own frontline arsenals remain fully stocked.

“Today at the Staff meeting, there were reports on our long-range needs in the near future, through the end of the year, and further ahead,” he said. “The accuracy of our forces helps protect the entire state. We are planning contracts and expanding production so that our arsenals are sufficiently filled.”

The president stressed that Kyiv would only export weapon systems considered surplus, redirecting the proceeds toward manufacturing scarce and high-demand systems, particularly those that have proven effective in striking deep into Russian territory.

“We are also working on exports – controlled exports of some of our weapons in surplus. This can give Ukraine additional finances for the production of systems that are lacking at the front, and those that have shown the best results in long-range strikes,” Zelenskyy said.

According to the president, agreements have already been reached on four export platforms, with deals expected to be prepared in the coming months.

The announcement marks the first time Kyiv has formally confirmed plans to sell its home-grown weaponry abroad, following earlier statements that partners had shown interest in purchasing modern Ukrainian arms.

Earlier on Monday, Zelenskyy convened what he called a “Technological Staff” meeting, focused largely on scaling up production of long-range strike capabilities. National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov later confirmed the session was devoted to enhancing Ukraine’s ability to hit deep targets.
