The Ukrainian pavilion “Not For Sale” at the EXPO 2025 world exhibition in Osaka won a silver award at the World Expolympics competition in the category “Best Activation or Engagement,” receiving international recognition for its innovation and impact on visitors.

The Gaze reports on it, referring to the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine.

“This victory is a recognition of the power of Ukrainian creativity and proof that we are capable of creating world-class projects that resonate with an international audience,” emphasized Tetyana Berezhna, Acting Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine.

The Not for Sale pavilion tells the story of Ukraine, which exists in a state of constant struggle with the enemy, as well as the tireless and unyielding artists and values that cannot be destroyed.

The pavilion is shaped like a store, where instead of goods, there are 18 items symbolizing human values — freedom, dignity, resilience, and more. Each item has a real barcode that visitors can scan, and screens show video stories from Ukraine, metaphorically showing the price Ukrainians pay for protecting their fundamental rights and freedoms.

The concept of “Values of Future: Actions Over Declarations” emphasizes that true values are confirmed by actions, not words.

The official opening of EXPO 2025, in which more than 160 countries are participating, took place in Osaka with the main theme “Designing the Future Society for Our Lives.”

The project was implemented with the support of the Japanese government, Ukrainian businesses, and international partners, allowing Ukraine to demonstrate its creativity and ability to create world-class projects that resonate with an international audience.

As The Gaze reported earlier, on September 2, the final location of the traveling exhibition “Cultural Heritage of Ukraine – Connection with the World” opened in Nagoya, Japan, continuing the successful series of presentations of Ukrainian culture.
