Ukraine to Launch Controlled Weapons Export Program Next Month – Zelenskyy
Ukraine will launch a controlled export program for domestically produced weapons next month, integrating the country’s rapidly expanding defense industry into the global arms market.
The Gaze reports this, referring to a statement made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Speaking in Kyiv, Zelenskyy said the initiative is designed to allow Ukraine to export certain categories of weapons that are already in surplus, using the proceeds to finance the production of systems that remain in short supply, particularly drones, precision munitions, and long-range strike capabilities.
“By the end of the year, the Minister of Defense must ensure the full implementation of production targets for FPV drones, interceptor drones, and deep-strike drones,” the president said. “Next month, we must also begin the controlled export of Ukrainian-made weapons. By year’s end, at least half of the weapons used in our defense should be of domestic origin.”

Zelenskyy emphasized that regulated exports would help Ukraine become a responsible player in the global defense market while maintaining strict oversight of end users in coordination with Western partners.
According to the Ukrainian president, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have already successfully deployed several new domestically designed missiles, including the Flamingo, Ruta, and Neptune, and are preparing to regularly use Ukrainian-made ballistic missiles.
Ukraine’s Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal has pledged to ramp up drone production to 1,000 interceptor drones per day in the coming months to reinforce the country’s air defense capacity.
As The Gaze reported earlier, on September 20, Ukraine announced the resumption of limited arms exports in order to attract additional funds for production and maintain its competitive position in the international market.
