Ukraine’s “Not For Sale” Pavilion Draws Over 3 Million Visitors at EXPO 2025

The Ukrainian pavilion “Not For Sale” at EXPO 2025 in Osaka welcomed over 3.2 million visitors in six months and became an important platform for the international promotion of Ukraine.
The Gaze reports this, referring to the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine.
Despite its small area of 53 m², the Ukrainian pavilion received the silver award for Best Activation or Engagement at World Expolympics and became a platform for the signing of 29 international agreements between Ukraine and Japan.
The pavilion was created on the initiative of the Ukrainian government under the leadership of Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko and Ukraine's Commissioner General at EXPO 2025 Tetiana Berezhna.
EXPO 2025 also served as a powerful diplomatic platform: the pavilion welcomed more than 140 official delegations, including European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, the Princess of Japan, the King of Sweden, the Mayor of Berlin, and former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
“Expo was an opportunity to showcase the main characteristics of Ukrainians — courage, creativity, adaptability, and the ability to achieve great things,” emphasized Tetiana Berezhna, Acting Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications.
Visitors from different countries showed interest in Ukrainian culture, gave gifts, dressed in national costumes, and even wrote letters in Ukrainian.
"At the main exhibition of business opportunities, they presented something that cannot be sold. The very foundation of any progress — something that never depreciates," Boris Johnson said about the Ukrainian exhibition.
The organizers paid special attention to interaction with young people. For example, students from Japanese schools visited the pavilion, gave paper cranes of peace, and expressed their wishes for peace in Ukraine.
With the support of the Japanese government and the attention of the international community, the Ukrainian pavilion has become a symbol of Ukraine's cultural resilience and diplomatic progress in the context of war.
As The Gaze reported earlier, the Ukrainian pavilion “Not For Sale” at the EXPO 2025 world exhibition in Osaka won a silver award at the World Expolympics competition in the category “Best Activation or Engagement,” receiving international recognition for its innovation and impact on visitors.
