Ukrainian Animated Film ‘I Died in Irpin’ Wins Award at French Short Film Festival
The animated film 'I Died in Irpin' by Ukrainian director Anastasia Falileieva won an award at the International Short Film Festival in Clermont-Ferrand, France. This was reported by the official website of the festival.
The 11-minute and 29-second film won the Best International Animation 2025 nomination.
‘On 24 February 2022, my boyfriend and I left Kyiv for Irpin. We spent ten days in the besieged city and managed to leave with the last evacuation convoy. Time has passed, but since then I have had the feeling that I died in Irpin. The film reconstructs a real-life story of survival through a personal and subjective lens,’ the synopsis says.
The film was directed by Anastasia Falileieva.
The Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival is one of the most prestigious short film festivals in the world.
Meanwhile, the American Film Academy has announced the nominees for the 97th Academy Awards, including the documentary about the war in Ukraine, Porcelain War.
