Ukrainian Film U Are the Universe Wins Jury Prize at Science Fiction Festival in Italy
Ukrainian director Pavlo Ostrikov's film 'U Are the Universe' won the jury prize at the Science Fiction Festival in Verona, Italy. This was reported by the Ukrainian State Film Agency on Facebook.
‘The film ‘U Are the Universe’ directed by Pavlo Ostrikov won the jury prize at the Extra sci-fi festival Verona,’ the statement reads.
‘U Are the Universe’ is a sci-fi tragicomedy created in cooperation between Ukraine and Belgium with the support of the Ukrainian State Film Agency.
According to the British Film Institute, the film was included in the list of the best films of 2024.
The film won the main award at the Strasbourg Film Festival and the Audience Award at the French Debut Film Festival.
The film's direction was also recognised at the Cottbus Film Festival in Germany.
As The Gaze previously reported, the sci-fi tragicomedy film U Are the Universe, directed by Pavlo Ostrikov, has won two top prizes at the 13th Paris International Fantastic Film Festival.
