Ukrainian Gymnast Wins Two Medals at World Cup Stage

Ukrainian gymnast Nazar Chepurny won silver and bronze medals at the World Cup in Cairo, Egypt.

In Cairo, Ukraine was represented only in men's disciplines. The team consisted of four gymnasts: Vladislav Hryko, Yuriy Emelyanov, Dmitry Prudko and Nazar Chepurny.
On the first day of the finals, the Ukrainians competed in the floor exercise. Chepurny showed the best result, scoring 13.866 points and winning the bronze medal.
Chepurny won his second award in Egypt in the vault. The gymnast performed his first vault with 14.100 points, and his second with 14.233 points. Nazar's final result was 14.166 points, which was enough for silver.
The Ukrainian was second only to the vice-champion of the Olympics, Armenian Artur Davtyan, who scored 14.700 points.
The parallel bars was the only apparatus where Chepurny failed to reach the podium, taking the last, eighth place with 11.100 points.
During the season, Nazar Chepurny collected eight World Cup awards, including two golds: in the vault (Baku) and parallel bars (Doha).
