Ukrainian Porn Star Raises Funds for Soldiers Who Lost Limbs in Russian War

Ukrainian adult film star Yulia Senyuk, better known by her stage name Josephine Jackson, is using her celebrity status to raise funds for Ukrainian soldiers who lost limbs in the war with Russia. Politico reports on this initiative.
On March 16, the adult film actress posed with wounded soldiers for a charity calendar. The proceeds from its sales will go towards funding a project for the rehabilitation of amputee soldiers. For the calendar photos, Yulia and the limbless soldiers posed in evening gowns at a theatre.
"We wanted to draw attention to the issue of rehabilitation after injuries because many people donate for drones but forget about prosthetics. I think I managed to draw attention because more people started donating for prosthetics," Yulia Senyuk noted.
The reaction of Ukrainians to this project has been mixed. Some praised Yulia's actions and thanked her for helping the military, while others criticized, belittled, and complained about the immorality of society.
Ukrainian authorities deliberately do not disclose how many people need prosthetics, stated Oksana Zhulnovych, Minister of Social Policy. However, she assured that the government is capable of meeting these needs.
According to Ukrainian officials, over €111 million has been allocated this year for rehabilitation assistance to veterans with limb amputations, and there is no need to raise funds in this way.
However, according to the Prosthesis Fund, about 59,000 Ukrainians need prosthetics. According to the Ukrainian Rehabilitation Center "Superman," they can cost from $46,000 to $90,000 each. Dozens of Ukrainian clinics and various initiatives are involved in the rehabilitation of military and civilian amputees, most of which rely on government programs and donations.
29-year-old Yulia Senyuk started her career in adult cinema at the age of 23 when she first agreed to appear in a pornographic film. Currently, videos featuring her have over 200 million views. In 2021, she also starred in the Ukrainian comedy mini-series "Porn, I Love You."
According to industry experts, Josephine Jackson has achieved certain success in her profession. In 2019, she was nominated for "Best New Starlet" at the XBIZ Award, one of the largest awards in the adult entertainment industry.
