Ukrainian Sailors Win Gold in Two of Three Classes at 2024 EurILCA European Cup in Croatia
Ukrainian yachtsmen performed well at the 2024 EurILCA European Cup in Croatia, the Ministry of Sport of Ukraine reports. The competition lasted three days in ILCA 4, ILCA 6 and ILCA 7 classes.
The event, organised by JK Zvir, was attended by 62 athletes from 10 countries who competed in the open water.
At the final stage, which took place off the coast of the island of Hvar, the entire podium in the ILCA 7 class was blue and yellow.
‘Nazar Artyukh won gold, Semen Khashchina took silver, and Vadym Okladnikov won bronze.
In addition, Ukrainian Bohdan Rukhlin won the ILCA 6 class.
Due to low winds, only one race was held on Friday, and no racing was possible on Saturday and Sunday. As a result, the winners of the first day were eventually crowned overall champions.
This last regatta marks the end of the EurILCA Europa Cup Trophy 2024, with all 11 regattas successfully completed across Europe, setting a historic record of 2010 participants.
The EurILCA Europa Cup Trophy will soon begin with the first edition of the 2025 edition, which will take place in Bodrum, Turkey, from 22 to 26 January.
