According to the Global Teacher Prize 2023 ranking, Ukrainian language and literature teacher and winner of the Global Teacher Prize Ukraine 2021, Artur Proidakov, has been included in the list of the world's top 10 teachers. This was reported on the "Osvitoria" union's website.
The founder of the Global Teacher Prize Ukraine and head of the "Osvitoria" union, Zoya Lytvyn, emphasized that this achievement marks a star-level and educational avant-garde for Ukraine.
"For the first time, a Ukrainian teacher has made it into the top 10 best teachers in the world! For seven years, we have been developing the Global Teacher Prize movement in Ukraine, and during this time, our teachers have repeatedly made it into the list of the top 50. However, the top 10 finalists are a star-level, an educational avant-garde," she said.
In turn, Artur Proidakov, a finalist for the Global Teacher Prize 2023, expressed how hard it is for him to believe and comprehend this achievement.
"10 people on planet Earth. 10 educators. And I, a Ukrainian teacher, am among these 10. This inspires and motivates. It means that I am doing everything right. And thousands of Ukrainian teachers are also doing everything right, continuing to work, preserving values, even in the face of the challenges of full-scale war," Artur commented.
He added that his work and this recognition were made possible thanks to Ukrainian soldiers, and expressed his gratitude to them for the opportunity to teach children.
"This achievement would not have been possible without our defenders. It is thanks to them that I have the honour of working as a teacher in Ukraine. And this motivates me to do only the best in my work, despite everything," the Ukrainian teacher emphasized.
Artur Proidakov was born in Kadiivka, which is now a temporarily occupied part of Luhansk region. He has been interested in Ukrainian language and culture from an early age. From 2007 to 2012, he studied philology at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University. Artur worked as a lecturer at Kadiivka Pedagogical College. In November 2014, he was forced to leave his home due to the war. For the next 6 years, Artur worked as a language and literature teacher in Romny and later in Kyiv.
In 2020, he joined the recording of lessons at the All-Ukrainian School Online. It was then that Artur started a Telegram channel called "ZNO Ukrainian" and recorded "Podcasts on Ukrainian literature." In 2021, Artur Proidakov received the status of the winner of the national Global Teacher Prize Ukraine award.
As reported by The Gaze, Ukraine recently achieved a historic milestone by successfully performing a double heart and lung transplant for the first time in the country's history.
