UN to Provide Over $3 Billion in Humanitarian Aid to Ukraine
A total of $3.3 billion is envisaged under United Nations programmes to support Ukrainians in 2025. This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy at platform X after a meeting in Kyiv on 16 January with a UN delegation led by Tom Fletcher and Filippo Grandi.
‘We deeply appreciate all the support for Ukraine and are especially grateful for the decision to allocate $3.3 billion in humanitarian aid to the Ukrainian people this year,’ the president said in a statement.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also invited the UN to join the ‘important efforts’ of the Ukrainian initiative ‘Food from Ukraine’, which aims to provide food support to the Syrian people.
Zelenskyy also said that the delegation had visited the southern part of Ukraine, as well as Dnipro, Sumy and Kharkiv regions, including Kupiansk.
