US Congress Acknowledges the Importance of Military and Financial Support for Ukraine: Bipartisan Delegation Arrives in Kyiv
A bipartisan delegation of the US Congress, led by Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Turner, has arrived in the capital of Ukraine. The US Ambassador to Ukraine, Bridget Brink, announced this on social media platform X.
"I am pleased to welcome to Kyiv a bipartisan delegation of the U.S. Congress led by Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Turner, which includes French Hill, Jason Crow, Abigail Spanberger, and Zach Nunn," Brink wrote.
Despite political disputes and debates over the budget, the US Congress understands the importance of funding military and financial support for Ukraine.
This was stated at a briefing in Kyiv by French Hill, a member of the US House Intelligence Committee, who arrived as part of a bipartisan delegation, answering questions from an Ukrinform correspondent.
Hill explained the current situation in Congress by the fact that the funding law has always been a source of debate in the United States, as well as by the election year in America and the controversy surrounding political issues.
The congressman also expressed his deep respect and gratitude to Zaluzhnyi, who has been heading Ukraine's defence for the past two years, "who has stayed with his soldiers and done an amazing job".
"The US and Ukraine share the same value - civilian control of the military. This value is time-tested and very important for any democracy. A civilian leader has the right and responsibility to choose leaders to move forward. We understand that after two years, President Zelenskyy is looking for renewal and a new approach. This is also his right, and we support it," he said.
