U.S. Launches Precision Strikes on Iranian Nuclear Sites Amid Soaring Tensions

The U. S. carried out coordinated military strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities late Saturday, in what President Donald Trump described as a “spectacular military success” designed to cripple Iran’s nuclear capabilities and compel Tehran to end its ongoing war with Israel.
The Gaze reports on this with reference to CBS.
Speaking from the White House in a nationally televised address, President Trump confirmed the attacks on the Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan sites, calling them “the heart of Iran’s nuclear threat.”
“Our forces struck with unmatched precision, eliminating Iran’s capacity to enrich uranium at three of its most fortified nuclear installations,” he stated. “This marks a turning point. Either Iran chooses peace or it faces consequences of historic magnitude.”
Details of the Operation
According to U.S. defense officials, three B-2 bombers deployed bunker-busting GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrators against the heavily fortified Fordo facility. Meanwhile, Tomahawk cruise missiles were launched from submarines targeting Natanz and Isfahan.
While the full extent of the damage is still being assessed, the International Atomic Energy Agency reported no increase in off-site radiation levels.
Diplomatic sources say the U.S. informed Israel prior to the strike but did not notify all regional allies hosting American troops. Some were informed while the operation was already underway.
Iranian and Israeli Reactions
Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization acknowledged the attacks but insisted they would not halt its nuclear ambitions.
Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi condemned the strikes as a “grave violation” of the UN Charter and vowed to defend Iranian sovereignty “with all options on the table.”
In a video statement, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised Trump’s leadership, saying, “Peace through strength, and tonight, America showed strength.”
Domestic Fallout and Congressional Response
The White House released photos of Trump and senior officials monitoring the strikes from the Situation Room.
Notably present was Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, who recently clashed with the administration over Iran’s nuclear intentions.
While House Speaker Mike Johnson was briefed in advance, the strikes drew criticism from both Democratic and Republican lawmakers.
Senator Mark Warner warned that the move risked dragging the U.S. into another conflict without a clear strategy or congressional approval.
Security agencies are now on alert for possible cyber or physical retaliation inside the United States.
“We are in uncharted territory,” one U.S. intelligence official told CBS News, noting the elevated threat level.
Defense Secretary Hegseth and Joint Chiefs Chairman General Dan Caine are expected to deliver an official briefing from the Pentagon on Sunday morning.
