The Ukrainian delegation held a series of meetings with U.S. senators in Washington on defense cooperation, sanctions against Russia, and the return of deported Ukrainian children.

The Gaze reports on this, referring to a statement made by the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, on Telegram.

The Head of the Office, who is in the U.S. together with Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko and Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov, reported on a series of meetings with U.S. senators.

Among the key topics of their conversations were strengthening military cooperation, expanding joint arms production within the Drone Deal, strengthening air defense, and using frozen Russian assets to support Ukraine's defense.

They also discussed sanctions pressure on Russia, in particular closing loopholes in the supply of Western components for Russian missiles.

In addition, the return of deported Ukrainian children was mentioned. The U.S. is preparing a bill that would recognize Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism until it returns all children.

“Each such meeting is a step towards lasting and just peace for Ukraine,” Yermak emphasized.

In addition, on October 16, the Head of the Office announced that eight more children and teenagers had been rescued from the temporarily occupied territories as part of the Ukrainian President's Bring Kids Back UA initiative.

Among them are a one-and-a-half-year-old boy whom Russian security forces tried to take away from his mother, a 17-year-old girl who witnessed the beating and interrogation of her relatives, and two sisters aged 13 and 16 who were forced to study under the Russian curriculum and participate in militarized children's organizations. A ten-year-old boy was hidden by his father for many years to save him from forced education under occupation.

Now all the children are receiving the necessary assistance, restoring their documents, and gradually returning to normal life.

The Gaze previously reported that U.S. President Donald Trump is preparing to launch a “Ukraine Victory Fund” that would channel revenue from sweeping new tariffs on Chinese imports into military aid for Kyiv.
