The United States has provided more assistance to Ukraine than any other country since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022.

The Gaze reports this, referring to newly released data from the Ukraine Support Tracker maintained by the Kiel Institute for the World Economy (IfW Kiel).

The findings underline Washington’s role as the cornerstone of Ukraine’s defense and recovery efforts, even as debates about the sustainability of support continue both in the U.S. and across Europe.

From January 24, 2022, through June 30, 2025, U.S. contributions reached roughly €115 billion, primarily in the form of weapons deliveries, defense-related equipment, and direct military financing.

The United States’ central role is further emphasized by comparison with other donors.

EU institutions, which pool contributions from member states, follow at some distance, while Germany ranks as the second-largest individual military backer, with commitments amounting to an estimated €16.5 billion.

The United Kingdom also remains among the top contributors, though still far behind the scale of U.S. engagement.

The tracker records three main categories of aid:

military support such as weapons systems, defense equipment, and related financial packages;

financial assistance including loans and grants to stabilize Ukraine’s economy;

humanitarian aid ranging from food and medicine to broader civilian support.

The bulk of U.S. support, however, has been directed toward military purposes, reflecting Washington’s determination to ensure that Ukraine can withstand Russia’s ongoing offensive operations.

U.S. assistance briefly stalled in early March 2025 amid political debates in Washington, but deliveries resumed on March 11 after Ukraine indicated willingness to explore a potential ceasefire.

The Ukraine Support Tracker compiles publicly available commitments from 31 Western governments, offering a detailed picture of international efforts to sustain Ukraine in the face of Russia’s ongoing war.

As The Gaze reported earlier, according to the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, Europe is increasingly delivering military aid to Ukraine directly from factories through procurement contracts rather than from existing arsenals.
