European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has announced the launch of a new EU program that will give Ukraine a technological advantage on the battlefield.

The Gaze reports on it, referring to a statement made by the President of the European Commission on a social media platform X.

“Soon, we will launch a new program to give Ukraine the tech edge it needs on the battlefield,” she wrote.

Von der Leyen said the program aims to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities and provide it with the technological means to fight effectively on the front lines.

According to her, the EU's goal is to support a strong and free Ukraine, emphasizing the determination of the community and its partners to continue providing assistance.

“Russia needs to know that the EU and its partners have the will and the means to continue supporting Ukraine until a just and lasting peace is achieved,” the President of the European Commission emphasized.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also met with European Union leaders, including Ursula von der Leyen, António Costa, and Mette Frederiksen, on the sidelines of the Copenhagen summit to discuss key initiatives to support Ukraine.

During the meeting, he spoke about Ukraine's accession to the “Drone Wall” project and the opening of the first cluster together with Moldova, as well as the use of frozen Russian assets and new financial instruments to support the country.

Special attention was also paid to the importance of adopting the 19th package of EU sanctions against Russia and continuing Ukraine's European integration.

“It is important that Europe's role is tangible, and we are counting on even more active work in all areas,” said the President of Ukraine.

As The Gaze informed earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed key issues of security and financial support for Ukraine with German Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz on the sidelines of the European Political Community summit.
