War Breaks Out Between India and Pakistan

India on Wednesday morning announced the launch of a military operation against Pakistan, claiming to have hit the country's ‘terrorist infrastructure’.
The Gaze reports on this with reference to CNN.
‘These steps have been taken in response to the barbaric terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which killed 25 Indian citizens and one Nepali citizen,’ the Indian Defence Ministry said, referring to the attack on tourists in April in Indian Kashmir.
India said it had carried out ‘targeted strikes’ on nine Pakistani targets.
According to Sky News, Pakistan's Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said that all the targets were civilian, including a mosque in the city of Bahawalpur, where a child was killed and two other people were injured. Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif called India's actions an ‘act of war’ and promised a ‘full and strong response’.
Later, the Pakistani military claimed to have downed five Indian jets.
At the same time, according to the Indian police, two women were wounded as a result of Pakistani shelling of Indian-controlled territory.
According to Radio Liberty, citing data from Pakistan, as of the morning of 7 May, 24 strikes by India on Pakistan were recorded, killing eight citizens and injuring 35. Another eight people went missing.
At the same time, the Indian army also reported civilian casualties. According to the army, three civilians were killed by Pakistani troops on the de facto border dividing Kashmir.
United States President Donald Trump said he had been informed of the attack and hoped that the fighting would ‘end very quickly’.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio contacted Pakistan's National Security Adviser, Lieutenant General Asim Malik, and spoke with his Indian counterpart, Subramanyam Jaishankar.
He said that he would continue to work with both India and Pakistan to resolve the conflict, the newspaper reported.
