Information from the Gaze. The Grain Agreement is an agreement concluded in 2022 between Ukraine, the UN, Turkey, and Russia, which allowed Ukrainian grain to be safely exported across the Black Sea during the war. It was necessary to prevent a global food crisis, as Ukraine is one of the largest grain exporters. In 2023, Russia withdrew from the agreement and began blocking and shelling Ukrainian port infrastructure, complicating maritime exports.
