Zelenskyy Announces New “Coalition of the Willing” Meeting in Rome

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced an upcoming meeting of the “coalition of the willing” set to take place in Rome in the coming days, signaling intensified international coordination on Ukraine’s defense needs amid ongoing Russian attacks, The Gaze reports.
In a statement following a call with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Zelenskyy said the two leaders had aligned their diplomatic efforts and discussed expectations for the Rome gathering. “We are working to ensure that the decisions are as strong as possible,” he said.
Starmer expressed condolences for the victims of recent Russian missile strikes, which have killed dozens across Ukrainian cities in the past week. Zelenskyy thanked the UK for its continued support and confirmed discussions about additional funding — expected later this month — to ramp up domestic drone production, with a focus on interceptor systems.
The leaders also agreed to strengthen broader security cooperation frameworks, including the U.S.-led Ramstein format. “There must be more protection for lives,” Zelenskyy emphasized.
The “coalition of the willing” includes a group of allied nations coordinating military and security assistance to Ukraine outside formal NATO channels. The upcoming Rome meeting is expected to shape the next phase of military aid and joint defense initiatives.
As The Gaze previously reported, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that next week will be important for Ukraine with new agreements with partners on defence and recovery.
