Zelenskyy: Hundreds of Infrastructure Sites Rebuilt in Ukraine with International Support

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on June 6 that hundreds of infrastructure sites destroyed by Russia’s full-scale invasion have already been rebuilt across Ukraine, thanks to the support of international partners, The Gaze report, citing Suspilne media.
Speaking at the 3rd International Summit of Cities and Regions, Zelenskyy highlighted the role of cross-border cooperation in reconstruction efforts.
“Hundreds of infrastructure facilities have already been rebuilt together with our friends in Europe, in different countries, in the United States of America — precisely thanks to cooperation between regions and cities,” Zelenskyy stated.
The president noted that despite Russia’s repeated attempts to trigger a nationwide blackout, Ukraine’s energy resilience has been strengthened with over 7,000 units of energy equipment provided by international allies. He also emphasized progress in the energy sector, citing 454 projects in alternative energy currently underway.
Zelenskyy expressed deep appreciation for humanitarian cooperation, particularly the cultural diplomacy and support provided to displaced Ukrainians by communities across Europe.
“We greatly value our cooperation in cultural diplomacy, supporting our people who found shelter in your cities and communities during the war. Our people among your people,” he said.
Ukraine’s energy system has been a frequent target of Russian attacks. Since October 2022, over 9.2 GW of capacity — nearly half of Ukraine’s total — has been lost, according to the energy ministry. In just the last two months, more than 1,200 disruptions to the power grid have been recorded due to continued Russian assaults.
As The Gaze previously reported, the European Union has announced that it will allocate €30 million to support the restoration of the water supply system in Kryvyi Rih, which was damaged after Russia destroyed the Kakhovka Dam in 2023.
