Zelenskyy to Visit Warsaw on December 19 for Talks with Polish President
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is expected to travel to Warsaw on December 19 for talks with Polish President Karol Nawrocki.
The Gaze informs about it, referring to the Polish President’s Office.
The invitation was confirmed by Rafał Leśkiewicz, spokesperson for the Polish presidency, who said the meeting had been formally proposed to the Ukrainian side and that preparations for the visit are currently underway.
According to the Polish presidency, the leaders plan to address key bilateral and regional security concerns, economic cooperation, and sensitive historical matters shaping relations between the two neighboring countries.
Zelenskyy also confirmed that he had accepted the proposed date, stressing the importance of maintaining strong ties with Poland. Speaking to reporters, the Ukrainian president said Kyiv did not intend to delay the visit, underlining that close relations with Warsaw remain a priority.
“Good neighborly relations are extremely important for us,” Zelenskyy said, expressing gratitude to Poland for its continued support of Ukraine.
The planned meeting follows comments by President Nawrocki earlier this month during a visit to the Rzeszów–Jasionka logistics hub, a key transit point for aid to Ukraine.
At the time, Nawrocki called for greater balance in Polish-Ukrainian relations and emphasized the need for acknowledgment of Poland’s assistance, while extending a formal invitation to Zelenskyy to visit Warsaw.
As The Gaze reported earlier, Poland has joined forces with eight Nordic and Baltic countries to expand a military training center that will enhance Ukraine’s defense capabilities through advanced drone operations and allied cooperation.
