Zelenskyy Urges EU Leaders to Provide Long-Range Weapons to Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on EU leaders to urgently provide Ukraine with long-range weapons and agree on a plan to use frozen Russian assets.
The Gaze reports on it, referring to Reuters.
At the summit of European Union leaders in Brussels, Zelensky emphasized the importance of supplying long-range weapons to change the course of the war and put pressure on Russia.
“When we talk about long-range weapons for Ukraine, we mean that the Putin regime should feel real consequences from this war. I urge you to support everything that helps Ukraine get such capabilities — because it really makes a difference for Russia,” he said.
He noted that Ukraine is ready to use a significant portion of any funds from frozen Russian assets to purchase European weapons.
The President also said that negotiations with the US on Tomahawk missiles had not yielded any concrete results, but noted that some European countries also have similar long-range weapons.
“These long-range weapons are not only in the US — some European countries also have them, including Tomahawks. We are already talking to the countries that can help,” Zelenskyy said.
In addition to military support, Zelenskyy called on EU leaders to approve a mechanism for using frozen Russian assets in the form of a “reparation loan” worth €140 billion, emphasizing the legality and fairness of this approach as a way to hold the aggressor accountable.
As The Gaze informed earlier, the meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Donald Trump in Washington ended without the expected results. The American leader refused to transfer Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, emphasizing the priority of diplomacy over military support.
