29 Injured in Massive Russian Missile and Drone Attack on Zaporizhzhia Region

At least 29 civilians were injured in a large-scale Russian missile strike on the southeastern Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia, regional authorities have confirmed. The attack caused significant destruction to residential neighborhoods and civilian infrastructure overnight.
The Gaze reports on this with reference to Ukrinform, citing regional authorities.
Zaporizhzhia, located along the Dnipro River, has been a frequent target due to its industrial and logistical importance and its proximity to the front line.
Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, reported that the latest assault injured 29 people, including a 13-year-old boy. Twelve of the wounded remain hospitalized with injuries ranging from concussions and burns to fractures and lacerations.
“The enemy struck residential buildings, a university, and other civilian infrastructure,” Fedorov stated in his post on social media. "The victims are receiving all necessary medical care."
In a dramatic rescue, emergency workers pulled a man from the rubble who was previously presumed dead.
The missile strike was part of a much broader wave of Russian aggression across the Zaporizhzhia region over the past 24 hours. According to the local military administration, Russian forces launched 589 total attacks on 16 settlements in the region. In total, authorities received 142 reports of property damage, including destroyed apartments, private homes, vehicles, and garages.
This escalation follows a familiar and deadly pattern of intensified Russian attacks across Ukraine. Similar strikes in Kyiv and Kharkiv in recent days have also resulted in civilian casualties and infrastructure damage, further underscoring the toll of ongoing Russian aggression.
As The Gaze reported earlier, on April 30, 47 people were injured in a series of 16 Russian strikes on Ukrainian Kharkiv.
