Batman Suit, Star Wars Stormtrooper Helmet to Be Auctioned in London for Almost €900 Thousand
The Propstore auction in the British capital will put up for sale 1800 lots, including a Batman costume and a stormtrooper helmet from the Star Wars film epic and a mask from the film Scream.
This was reported by Euronews Culture.
The London auction house will put up for sale costumes and props from TV shows and films from 14 to 15 November, and online bidding will be held in the next two days.
It is expected that some lots could be sold for hundreds of thousands of euros. The highest expectations are placed on the sale of a stormtrooper helmet used in one of the scenes in the 1977 film 'Star Wars: A New Hope’ in 1977 - its expected value is 596 thousand euros.
Next on the list is the Batman costume from Tim Burton's 'Batman Returns' (1992). It is expected to be sold for 238 thousand euros.
The mask and helmet of Maxim Decimus from the 2000 film 'Gladiator' directed by Ridley Scott is expected to be sold for the same price. A handmade poster by Robert McGinnis for the James Bond film 'Diamonds Are Forever’ (1971) is expected to be sold for 358 thousand euros.
The auction will also feature a futuristic jacket of Marty McFly's character from the second part of the 1989 film 'Back to the Future', which can go under the hammer for 143 thousand euros.
London will also feature a mask signed by actor Henry Winkler from the 1996 film Scream and one of Captain Jack Sparrow's hats from the 2007 film 'Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End'.
Other lots in the auction include costumes from the films 'Cleopatra' (1963), 'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly' (1966), and 'The Thing' (1982).
As you know, in August, a brown felt hat worn by actor Harrison Ford in the second part of the Indiana Jones franchise was sold at an auction in Los Angeles for $630,000.
