Biden's Motorcade Gets into Car Accident in US [VIDEO, PHOTO]

A car crashed into US President Joe Biden's motorcade in Delaware, USA, on the evening of 17 December, as the Bidens were leaving the presidential campaign headquarters. The presidential couple were not injured, The Hill, ABC News, Reuters, and CNN report.
According to witnesses, a silver sedan with Delaware licence plates crashed into a parked SUV guarding the president's motorcade as Biden walked from the campaign headquarters to his armoured car. It happened in downtown Wilmington at 8 p.m. on Sunday.
After the incident, the sedan attempted to continue driving at a blocked intersection, but was quickly surrounded by security officers. The agents pointed their guns at the driver, ordering him to put his hands in the air.

At this point, Biden reportedly "stood by the car and looked surprised". The crash caused a loud thud in the street, and the president looked around to see what all the fuss was about.
Biden was put into a car with his wife already in it and quickly driven to their home in Wilmington.
The couple are reportedly safe and the incident did not affect the US president's schedule.
The Secret Service told CNN that the accident was not intentional - it was raining heavily in the city at the time. Secret Service spokesman Steve Kopeck said there was no need to protect the president.
"At approximately 8:09 p.m. today, a Secret Service vehicle guarding the president's motorcade route was struck by another vehicle in Wilmington, Delaware. There were no protective interests associated with this event, and the president's motorcade left without incident," Kopeck said.
The Bidens were visiting the campaign headquarters for the 2024 presidential election to offer holiday greetings to the staff. It was the first visit by the president since the staff began working in the Wilmington office in the summer.
Back in the spring, US President Joe Biden announced that he was going to run for re-election in 2024.
In December, he admitted that he would not have run for a second term if his predecessor, Donald Trump, had not sought to return to the White House.
Later that month, a poll among Americans conducted by The Wall Street Journal showed that Donald Trump had beaten the current American leader, Joe Biden, for the first time. According to the poll, Trump is ahead of Biden by 4 percentage points. At the moment, the votes are distributed as follows: Trump 47% and Biden 43%.
