British Volunteers Deliver 38 Off-Road Vehicles to Support Ukrainian Troops
A group of British volunteers has delivered another 38 off-road vehicles (SUVs) loaded with humanitarian supplies to Ukrainian defenders as part of the long-running “Pickups for Peace” initiative.
The Gaze reports this, referring to a statement made by the Lviv Regional Military Administration.
The latest convoy, the 24th since the project began, arrived in the Lviv region over the weekend.
SUVs, short for Sport Utility Vehicles, are four-wheel-drive off-road vehicles combining the comfort of a car with the durability of a truck.
Their high clearance, strong suspension, and large cargo space make them ideal for difficult terrain, exactly the kind of conditions faced by Ukrainian troops on the frontline.
For Ukrainian defenders, such vehicles serve as mobile platforms for evacuations, medical aid, reconnaissance, and supply missions.
The SUVs will be sent to frontline units to help transport personnel, equipment, and aid.
“Such vehicles are vital for saving lives and strengthening our defense. We sincerely thank everyone who continues to stand with Ukraine – your solidarity proves that the world remains united with us,” said Khrystyna Zamula, Deputy Head of the Lviv Regional Administration.
The “Pickups for Peace” initiative was founded by British farmer Mark Laird, who has supported Ukraine’s Armed Forces since 2014.
Originally, organizers planned to donate 100 vehicles, but the total has now exceeded 700.
Over time, the campaign has grown into an international effort, with volunteers from the United States, Canada, the Netherlands, Sweden, and other countries joining British farmers to raise funds and organize deliveries. In total, more than a thousand people have taken part in the project.
As The Gaze reported earlier, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has announced that the United Kingdom will accelerate its program to supply Ukraine with more than 5,000 multi-purpose missiles to strengthen Kyiv’s defense ahead of winter.
