UK to Speed Up Delivery of Over 5,000 Multi-Purpose Missiles to Ukraine
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has announced that the United Kingdom will accelerate its program to supply Ukraine with more than 5,000 multi-purpose missiles to strengthen Kyiv’s defense ahead of winter.
The Gaze reports this, referring to Ukrinform.
Speaking in London alongside NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and leaders of the “Coalition of the Willing,” Starmer said the accelerated deliveries would include an additional 140 missiles shipped earlier than planned.
“We are speeding up our British program to deliver over 5,000 multi-purpose missiles to Ukraine. This initiative has already created hundreds of skilled jobs in Belfast, and our team is now working to send an extra 140 missiles ahead of schedule to reinforce Ukraine’s defenses this winter,” the Prime Minister stated.

Starmer also voiced firm support for the United States’ new sanctions against Russia’s major energy corporations, including Rosneft and Lukoil, calling them a vital step to sustain economic pressure on the Kremlin.
“President Trump was right to sanction Russia’s oil giants – just as Britain and the European Union have done with their own new packages. We must keep up this pressure,” he said.
The Prime Minister condemned Moscow’s renewed attacks on Ukrainian civilians, describing them as evidence that President Vladimir Putin “has no interest in peace.”
“This week’s strikes on civilian infrastructure, including energy sites and even a kindergarten, killed a 12-year-old girl and a six-month-old baby in Kyiv. That is who Putin is. Once again, he refuses peace, demanding territories he could not seize by force. It’s completely unacceptable,” Starmer said.

Starmer underscored that the allied coalition remains united in tightening pressure on Russia both militarily and economically. He also reaffirmed Britain’s commitment to advancing international efforts to unlock frozen Russian sovereign assets and use them to fund Ukraine’s defense and reconstruction.
During the meeting, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also presented the domestically designed OCTOPUS drone interceptor to the British Prime and the UK pledged to manufacture the first batch of these systems for Ukraine’s defense.
The OCTOPUS is a compact Ukrainian-developed interceptor drone built to detect and destroy one-way attack UAVs such as Russia’s Shahed drones. The system has proven highly effective on the battlefield and now forms the foundation of a new international industrial program for mass production.
The London meeting of the “Coalition of the Willing,” which gathered NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and allied leaders, focused on bolstering Ukraine’s defense capacity, protecting its energy infrastructure, and intensifying economic pressure on Moscow.
As The Gaze reported earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a new law authorizing the deployment of Ukrainian Armed Forces units abroad, enabling the country to send naval personnel to Turkey and the United Kingdom for training and operational purposes.
