Cannes Film Festival to Screen Three Ukraine War Films

The 78th Cannes Film Festival will host a special screening of three films dedicated to the war in Ukraine.

"Today, on 13 May, the opening day of the 78th Cannes Film Festival, a special screening of three films dedicated to the war in Ukraine will take place. This “Day of Ukraine” is intended to remind us of the dedication of artists, authors and journalists who have been reporting on the conflict in the heart of Europe for three years now," the statement said.
During the festival, a documentary story about Volodymyr Zelenskyy's journey from actor to president during the war - Zelensky - will be shown. Authors: Yves Jolan, Lisa Vapne and Ariane Chemin (France, 2025, duration: 2 hours and 15 minutes).
In addition, there will be a screening of a new film from the frontlines of Pokrovsk and Sumy, where Ukrainians and French volunteers are fighting side by side - Notre Guerre (Our War). Directed by Bernard-Henri Levy and Marc Roussel (France-Ukraine, 2025, duration: 1 hour 18 minutes).
A new film by Mstislav Chernov about the war in Donetsk region, 2000 metres to Avdiivka, will also be presented.
The 78th Cannes International Film Festival will take place from 13 to 24 May.
