Ukrainian Film 'To the Victory!' to Have World Premiere at Toronto Film Festival

The 50th Toronto International Film Festival, which will take place from 4 to 14 September, will host the world premiere of the Ukrainian film ‘To the Victory!’ directed by Valentin Vasyanovich.
The Gaze reports on it, referring to the Ukrainian State Film Agency.
The film ‘To the Victory!’ has been included in the competition programme of the Toronto International Film Festival, one of the world's largest ‘A’ class film festivals.
Valentin Vasyanovich's film will compete for victory in the Platform competition programme.
As noted by the agency, ‘To the Victory!’ is a dystopian film that depicts events unfolding in the post-war period. The characters in the film are trying to find themselves in new circumstances and believe that the hard times will pass and they will be able to return to their business.
The film was produced by Arsenal Films in collaboration with the Ukrainian production company ForeFilms and with the participation of the Lithuanian co-producer M-Films.
This is the first time a Ukrainian film has been selected for the Platform competition programme at the Toronto International Film Festival.
This year, films from 19 countries, including Canada, France, Germany, Argentina, Iran and others, will compete for victory at the festival.
As The Gaze reported earlier, the VIII Malaysia International Film Festival is featuring a screening of the romantic comedy ‘The Taste of Freedom’ by Ukrainian director Oleksandr Berezan.
