Czech Counterintelligence: Russia, China, Iran Pose the Biggest Threat to Europe
The security situation in the world is extremely serious, and Russia, China and Iran pose the greatest threats to Europe.
This was stated by the head of the Czech Security and Information Service (BIS), Michal Koudelka, on Czech Television.
‘The world is boiling and dangerously teetering on the brink of global conflict,’ Koudelka said.
Among the current threats, the BIS director named the threat to Europe from Russian imperialism, sabotage and intelligence operations by Russia, China and Iran, etc. This includes hostile propaganda, migration, the threat of Islamic terrorism, illegal arms trade, cyber attacks, and possible misuse of artificial intelligence technology.
According to the Czech Ministry of Defence, its head, Jana Černohová, has recently visited Ukraine with a delegation.
During the three-day visit, she paid tribute to the Czechoslovak legionnaires and soldiers who died in World War II, and also remembered the sacrifices of soldiers from Czech lands who fought in the Austro-Hungarian army. Chernokhova concluded her visit with a commemorative event at the Zborivska grave, a site associated with the beginning of the Czechoslovak legions' activities on the eastern front.
She also honoured the memory of Ukrainian soldiers who have recently been killed.
