Denmark Becomes First NATO Country to Host Ukrainian Arms Production
Denmark has become the first NATO member state to formally permit Ukrainian defense manufacturing within its borders.
The Gaze reports this, referring to Bild.
The authorization clears the way for a new facility in the southern Danish town of Vojens, where the Ukrainian defense company Fire Point will build a plant dedicated to producing solid rocket fuel, German outlet Bild reported.
A ceremonial groundbreaking took place at the construction site, attended by Denmark’s Minister for Industry Morten Bødskov, Haderslev Municipality Mayor Mads Skau, and Fire Point’s Denmark director Viacheslav Bondarchuk.
Their participation marked the official launch of a project viewed as a milestone in Europe’s effort to strengthen Ukraine’s long-term defense resilience.
The decision stems from a series of bilateral agreements concluded earlier this year, which enable Ukrainian defense industries to operate inside partner countries as a safeguard against Russian strikes.
By shifting part of its missile-related production abroad, Ukraine aims to secure an uninterrupted supply of critical components that remain highly vulnerable at home due to constant aerial attacks.
The new plant will be located close to Skrydstrup Air Base, a placement selected for both enhanced security and logistic support. The facility will manufacture solid rocket fuel essential for several of Ukraine’s missile programs.
If construction and certification progress according to schedule, production is expected to begin in 2026.
While Denmark has consistently expanded its military and financial assistance to Ukraine, including recent contributions for weapons procurement and U.S.-made systems, the decision to host Ukrainian defense production marks an unprecedented deepening of cooperation.
Earlier reports also indicated that Poland, working with the Norwegian company Kongsberg, is preparing to start manufacturing Ukraine’s Seawolf naval drones under a new investment initiative.
As The Gaze previously informed, Denmark has approved its 28th military aid package for Ukraine, worth 1.4 billion Danish kroner ($217 million).
