Denmark Approves 28th Military Aid Package for Ukraine Worth $217 Million
Denmark has approved its 28th military aid package for Ukraine, worth 1.4 billion Danish kroner ($217 million).
The Gaze reports this, referring to an announcement made by the Danish Ministry of Defence.
The package, approved jointly by the government and the parliamentary defense committee, includes a significant boost to the so-called “Danish model” – a framework that channels funding into the production of weapons directly in Ukraine.
Around 100 million kroner will be directed to this initiative, aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s domestic defense industry amid Russia’s ongoing aggression.
More than 370 million kroner from the new package will go toward the multinational PURL initiative, which enables the purchase of American-made weapons for Ukraine.
An additional 80 million kroner will finance fuel supplies to Ukraine through NATO’s Support and Procurement Agency.
“With this package, we’re ensuring that Ukraine receives a range of crucial combat capabilities in the coming months – both through the Danish model and the PURL initiative,” said Danish Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen.
The previous, 27th aid package, valued at roughly 2.6 billion kroner ($407 million), was announced in September.
Altogether, Denmark has pledged nearly 71 billion kroner ($10.5 billion) in military and related assistance to Ukraine since 2022, including both delivered and future commitments.
Copenhagen’s sustained backing places it among the top European contributors to Ukraine’s defense, with an emphasis on long-term cooperation, local weapons production, and integration within broader transatlantic initiatives.
As The Gaze reported earlier, Ukraine and NATO are deepening cooperation under the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL), as total partner contributions have reached $2.82 billion.
