Denmark Strengthens Ukraine’s Defense with Satellite Communications Support

Denmark has announced a significant contribution to Ukraine's defense capabilities by providing satellite communication services, aimed at enhancing Ukraine’s strategic defense.
The Gaze reports this, referring to the Danish Ministry of Defence.
The assistance, which is being coordinated through the European Defence Agency (EDA), is intended to support Ukraine’s urgent need for reliable satellite links in its fight against Russia.
According to the Ministry, the provided technology will give Ukrainian forces access to satellite communication terminals, bolstering their operational capacity and ensuring ongoing resistance against the Russian invasion.
Troels Lund Poulsen, Denmark’s Minister of Defence, expressed pride in the country’s role in strengthening Ukraine’s space defense.
“I am proud that Denmark is contributing to Ukraine’s space defense with this package. Space is increasingly becoming a critical area for defense policy, and our collaboration with the EU Defence Agency to enhance Ukraine's satellite capabilities reflects the importance of these solutions for both Ukraine and broader European security,” stated Poulsen.
The satellite communication package, which is set to run until June 2028, will also provide essential funding, technical expertise, and digital tools to assist in Ukraine’s reconstruction efforts.
The terminals supplied by Denmark are expected to facilitate dependable and secure communication, which will be critical for Ukraine’s military operations.
In a broader context, Denmark’s leadership in the EU Council this year has focused on key priorities, including strengthening defense policies and addressing illegal migration.
With this new initiative, Denmark continues to assert its support for Ukraine and further solidifies its commitment to European security.
As The Gaze reported earlier, the Danish Export and Investment Fund (EIFO) has announced a $5 million investment in the D3 defence technology venture fund to support Ukrainian defence tech.
