Ukrainian Defense Firms to Open Production in Denmark

Ukrainian defense companies will soon begin production on Danish soil after Ukraine and Denmark signed a landmark agreement in Copenhagen, The Gaze reports.
The deal, finalized by Ukraine’s Minister for Strategic Industries, Herman Smetanin, and Denmark’s Minister of Industry, Morten Bødskov, paves the way for the establishment of Ukrainian defense manufacturing facilities in Denmark.
“This is a historic agreement. It opens the door for the creation of Ukrainian defense production facilities on Danish territory,” Smetanin stated.
“A year ago, Denmark became the first country to finance weapons production by Ukrainian companies. Today, it has become the first country where Ukraine is exporting its own defense technologies for production, scaling, and supplying to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.”
The agreement represents a milestone in international cooperation for Ukraine’s defense industry. Ukrainian officials view it as a significant step toward strengthening Ukraine’s and Denmark’s joint defense capabilities amid the ongoing war.
“I am extremely grateful to Denmark for this significant support to Ukraine’s defense industry, for its timely decisions, and for maintaining a high level of defense cooperation,” Smetanin said.
Smetanin emphasized that Ukraine will work to enhance Denmark’s and its partners’ defense capabilities in return. “Together, we are stronger,” he concluded.
As The Gaze previously reported, in a major boost to Ukraine’s defense industrial resilience and European security cooperation, Ukraine and Denmark have signed a landmark agreement to launch joint defense production on Danish territory.
