Denmark to Provide Ukraine with €42 Million for Artillery Shells
The Danish government will allocate 317 Danish kroner (42 million euros) to Ukraine as part of the 25th aid package to purchase artillery shells of various calibres.
The Gaze reports on this with reference to the country's Ministry of Defence.
It is noted that this issue will be discussed during a meeting between Danish Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen and his Estonian counterpart Hanno Pevkur.
‘We need to focus our support even more so that Ukrainians can withstand Russia's aggression. A possible ceasefire should be accompanied by concrete security guarantees, and Denmark has already confirmed that we are ready to join a peacekeeping mission,’ said Mr Poulsen.
The defence ministry noted that the purchase of ammunition will be carried out through Estonia. The Ministry of Defence stressed that ‘Ukraine is in great need of constant supplies of artillery ammunition of various calibres’.
‘Donations to Ukraine should be made in accordance with the specific wishes and needs of Ukraine. It is good and important that Estonia is able to supply Ukrainians with the types of ammunition they want. We should continue to support this, and we should also explore the possibilities of jointly supporting Ukraine in other relevant areas,’ Poulsen said.
As The Gaze reported earlier, Denmark will provide €130 million in guarantees for its companies that are ready to invest in Ukraine's defence industry.
