Drone Coalition Allocates €20 Million for Reconnaissance UAVs for Ukraine

The partner countries of the Drone Coalition have allocated €20 million from a joint fund for the purchase of tactical intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance drones for the Ukrainian Defence Forces, the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has announced.
Deputy Minister of Defence for Digitalisation Kateryna Chernogorenko noted that the delivery is expected within three months. She explained that these drones will allow the military to more effectively conduct reconnaissance of the area and increase the situational awareness of units.
The Drone Coalition was established in February 2024 during the 19th Ramstein meeting at the initiative of Latvia. Together with the United Kingdom, it coordinates the work of this initiative.
The coalition currently includes 18 countries: Latvia, the United Kingdom, Australia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Estonia, Italy, New Zealand, Canada, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Germany, Sweden, and Ukraine.
In July 2024, the participating countries signed a memorandum of understanding that established a joint fund worth €45 million.
Since the beginning of the year, Ukraine is expected to receive massive supplies of various types of drones from the coalition members.
As The Gaze reported, in the summer of 2024, the Czech Republic officially joined the international Drone Coalition.
