Eight Ukrainian Films to Be Screened in Rome During 'Ukrainian Cinema Days'
The Italian capital, Rome, will host the Ukrainian Film Days from 6 to 8 December. This event demonstrates that despite all the difficulties, Ukrainian cinema has survived and continues to develop, to delight and surprise cinema lovers both in Ukraine and abroad, the State Film Agency said.
The three-day programme of the Ukrainian Film Days in Rome will present feature films and documentaries. All films will be screened in Ukrainian with Italian subtitles.
On 6 December, the opening ceremony of the Ukrainian Film Days in Rome will be held with a screening of the psychological drama Honeymoon, directed by Zhanna Ozirna.
7 December:
- How We Were Recruits by Lubomir Levitsky;
- Air Breakthrough to Azovstal. The Sky directed by Artem Shevchenko;
- Yaroslav the Wise by Olesya Nogina;
Films created with the support of the Ukrainian State Film Agency:
- Taste of Freedom by Oleksandr Berezan;
- Me, Victory and Berlin by Olga Ryashina.
On 8 December, two screenings of films created with the support of the Ukrainian State Film Agency will take place:
- Egregor by Stanislav Kapralov;
- The Long Escape by Andrea Magnani.
A discussion panel will also take place: ‘Co-production with Ukraine: challenges and opportunities’.
The Ukrainian Film Days in Rome are supported by the Ukrainian State Film Agency, the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Italy, the NGO UkrKinoFest, the Julia Ignatchenko Foundation, Casa del Cinema a Villa Borghese and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
The event will take place at Casa del Cinema (Largo Marcello Mastroianni 1, Roma 00197).
