Estonia’s Milrem Robotics Sends 150 THeMIS Unmanned Ground Vehicles to Ukraine

Estonian company Milrem Robotics will supply Ukraine with more than 150 THeMIS unmanned ground vehicles as part of a defense initiative coordinated by the Netherlands to strengthen the capabilities of Ukrainian forces on the front lines.
The Gaze reports this, referring to a company's press release.
The delivery will be part of an international project funded by the Dutch government and will be carried out in cooperation with VDL Defentec, which will organize a special line for the final assembly of drones at its factory in Born.
“The assembly setup is designed for scalability, enabling further production and deliveries in response to future requirements,” the statement reads.
Milrem Robotics Netherlands will coordinate the transfer of equipment and conduct a full training course for Ukrainian operators to ensure the effective use and maintenance of THeMIS in combat conditions.
"The THeMIS platform has already demonstrated its value under combat conditions, and we believe this contribution will materially strengthen Ukraine’s defense capability,” said Kuldar Väärsi, CEO of Milrem Robotics.
VDL Groep CEO Willem van der Legte noted that the initiative demonstrates close cooperation between European defense partners and lays the foundation for further production and innovation in the field of military robotics.
The new THeMIS units will complement the 15 units that have been in service in Ukraine since 2022.
These drones are used for reconnaissance, logistics, and fire support, and have proven themselves to be the most widely used platform in their class, currently in service or undergoing testing in 19 countries around the world.
