Netherlands Pledges €55 Million to World Bank for Ukraine Reconstruction

The Netherlands is allocating €55 million to the World Bank for the reconstruction of Ukraine, confirming its strong support amid Russia's ongoing aggression.
The Gaze reports this, referring to Ukrinform.
“Today we announce that the Netherlands will allocate €55 million to the World Bank's ”Assistance, Recovery, Reconstruction and Reform in Ukraine“ fund to help your country recover and rebuild. Because your struggle is our struggle. And the future of Ukraine is the future of Europe,” the Prime Minister of the Netherlands Dick Schoof said.
He stressed that Ukraine's struggle is Europe's common struggle and emphasized the inextricable link between Ukrainian and European security.
"No one in Europe can claim that Russian aggression is not our problem, or that the war here is exclusively a struggle between Ukraine and Russia. This is a common struggle," said Schoof.
He stressed that Ukraine must be able to count on strong support from European countries now and in the future.
"The Netherlands and its allies are on your side. Ukrainians have every right to live in freedom and security in a strong and independent Ukraine," Prime Minister of the Netherlands said.
The Dutch Head of Government noted that the Netherlands has already provided Ukraine with more than €20.6 billion in aid, of which €13.6 billion is military support, including participation in the NATO PURL Initiative.
The country also continues to supply air defense systems and F16 fighter jets and participates in a collective ammunition procurement program.
Moreover, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of Russia's responsibility for its criminal aggression and the need to continue pressure on it, including new sanctions.
He also announced an agreement on cooperation with Ukraine in the production of drones and called on other countries to join in supporting and purchasing critically important weapons.
“We must continue to put pressure on Russia, including through the introduction of new sanctions,” Dick Schoof said.
As The Gaze previously informed, Ukraine has signed its first international research and development (R&D) partnership in the defense technology sector, teaming up with the Netherlands’ top research institute, the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO), to drive innovations that could reshape the battlefield.
