EU Ambassador to Ukraine: On Child Protection Day, Russia killed at least two children in Kyiv with a missile attack
Today, June 1st, on International Children's Protection Day, Russia killed two children in Kyiv during a night-time missile strike. The children were 6 and 11 years old. Matti Maasikas, the EU ambassador to Ukraine, reacted to the night-time missile attack in the Ukrainian capital, which resulted in the death of children.
'Tragically in Kyiv, where early in the morning at least two children were killed as a result of Russian airstrikes,' the EU ambassador wrote on Twitter.
"Unfortunately, the number of casualties from the rashists' aerial attack is increasing. According to information being clarified, in the Desnianskyi district there are already 3 dead and 4 injured. The data is being updated," it was reported in the morning by the Kyiv City Military Administration.
Later, Kyiv Mayor Klitschko added that, according to preliminary information from rescuers, three dead were found in the Desnianskyi district, two of whom were children, and 4 were injured.
According to updated data from the Kyiv City Military Administration, in the Desnianskyi district 3 people were killed, including one 11-year-old child, and 10 people were injured, including one child.
According to the General Staff, Russia used 10 missiles from the Iskander operational-tactical missile complex at night against civilian and critical infrastructure objects in the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv, and Kyiv region.

Damage to the non-residential fund: - the fall of fragments on an administrative building has been recorded; - parked cars are damaged, several units of transport burned out; - the fall of fragments in the yards of houses, on the roadway, in green zones has been recorded.
Darnytskyi district. Information about casualties is currently absent. Damage. In one of the houses in the residential sector, due to the fall of fragments, an explosive wave knocked out windows. Damage to the non-residential fund: - a hot water supply pipeline was damaged; - fragments fell on a non-residential building, destruction was recorded on the first floor; - the fall of fragments in the yards of houses, on the roadway has been recorded.
Recall, since the beginning of the full-scale war in Ukraine, Russia has carried out over 1000 attacks on Ukrainian medical institutions. According to a recently published report by the World Health Organization (WHO), this is the highest number of attacks ever recorded in any humanitarian situation.
