EU Council to Discuss Extending Temporary Protection for Ukrainians Until 2027

On June 13, the Council of the European Union expects to reach a political agreement on extending the temporary protection instrument for Ukrainian citizens until March 2027.
The Gaze reports on this with reference to the announcement of the agenda of the EU Council meeting on justice and home affairs on June 13.
The EU Council will discuss extending temporary protection in the EU for Ukrainian citizens in connection with the war until March 2027 and expects to reach a political agreement on this issue.
The final decision on this matter is expected in the coming weeks.
In addition, ministers will discuss options for transitioning from temporary protection status to another status.
The European Commission recently announced that it is preparing to extend temporary protection for Ukrainians until March 2027 and will also provide member states with recommendations on further measures, including the possibility of obtaining a new status for those who have a job or are studying in the EU.
The EU Council has already extended temporary protection for Ukrainians until March 2026.
As The Gaze reported earlier, Czech President Petr Pavel has signed a law extending protection for Ukrainian refugees.
