EU Representative Kaja Kallas: Ukraine and Europe must also greenlight peace plan
She said this before the EU Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels.
The Gaze reports on according to Ukrinform.
The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, stated that in order to end the war, Ukraine and Europe must also agree to the ‘peace plan.’
"We welcome all meaningful efforts to end this war. But, as we have said before, it must be a just and lasting peace. This means that Ukrainians and Europeans must also agree to the peace plan, " Kallas stressed.
She emphasised that Putin could end this war immediately if he simply stopped bombing civilians and killing people. The High Representative called for people to remember that there is one aggressor and one victim in this war, but no one has heard of any concessions from the Russian side.
"I mean, if Russia really wanted peace, it could have agreed to an unconditional ceasefire some time ago. Instead, we are again seeing the bombing of civilians last night, with 93% of Russian targets being civilian infrastructure. I mean schools, hospitals, apartment buildings, to kill many people and cause as much suffering as possible," she stressed.
Kallas also said that the EU Council will discuss the latest events in Ukraine today, as well as the next steps to counter Russia's shadow fleet, whose activities affect the Russian Federation's revenues for financing this war.
