Europe Must Prepare for Russian Escalation in Baltic Region, Expert Says

Europe should prepare for a new phase of escalation in the conflict with Russia in the Baltic region, said Helge Adrians, a researcher at the Berlin-based Science and Politics Foundation.
The Gaze writes about it, referring to his interview with DW.
According to Adrians, the next level of escalation with Russia is ‘just around the corner.’
The expert cites two immediate causes: on the one hand, the 18th package of EU sanctions targeting Russian gas and oil exports; and on the other, Russia's continued build-up of its military capabilities in the Baltic Sea region, particularly on Lake Ladoga near St. Petersburg.
As The Gaze reported earlier, as tensions with Russia escalate, the Baltic nations are rapidly enhancing their healthcare infrastructures to prepare for the possibility of war.
