FIFA Selects Four Countries to Host 2030, 2034 World Cups
The International Football Federation has approved the hosts of two World Cups at a meeting of the organisation's Congress: Spain, Portugal and Morocco in 2030 and Saudi Arabia in 2034.
This was reported by FIFA on social media.
The international governing body of football has decided that in 2030 the World Cup will be hosted by three countries at once - Spain, Portugal and Morocco.
For the first time in history, the World Cup will be held on two different continents: Europe and Africa.
In honour of the 100th anniversary of the competition, the first match of the 2030 World Cup will be held in Uruguay, which hosted the World Cup in 1930, with the second and third matches taking place in Argentina and Paraguay.
The 2034 FIFA World Cup will be hosted by Saudi Arabia, which was the only country to submit a bid for the tournament on time. The 2034 World Cup may be held in January due to acceptable weather conditions and large-scale religious events.
